be doing (progressive); be in the state of having done (resultant state).
Connection rules
- ＋Verb-て + います
- ＋For action verbs (eat, read, walk), -ています expresses ongoing action.
- ＋For change-of-state verbs (get married, come to know, die), -ています expresses resultant state.
