Connection rules

  • Noun1 + の + Noun2 (Noun2 is the head; Noun1 modifies it)
  • Multiple の can chain: 私の友だちの車 — 'my friend's car'.
  • The nominalizing use (e.g., 食べるのが好き) appears later at higher levels.
