Connection rules
- ＋Drop final い from the i-adjective, add く: 早い → 早く, 大きい → 大きく, 高い → 高く. Irregular: いい → よく.
- ＋Exception: いい conjugates as よい throughout its stem-based forms — よく, よくない, よかった.
- ＋The same 〜く form is the stem for negatives (〜くない) and past (〜かった).
