Connection rules

  • Plain-form clause / noun (+ だ) + とすれば / とすると / としたら.
  • Hypothetical assumption — 'assuming X, then Y'.
  • Three variants: とすれば (slightly more formal), とすると (neutral), としたら (slightly more conversational).
