Connection rules
- ＋V-て + からでないと / からでなければ + negative main clause.
- ＋Prerequisite structure — Y is impossible until X is done.
- ＋Main clause must be negative or prohibitive.
Examples

説明を聞いてからでないと、始められない。
Setsumei o kii te kara de nai to, hajime rare nai.
We can't start until after hearing the explanation.

手を洗ってからでなければ、食事できません。
Te o ara te kara de nakere ba, shokuji deki mase n.
You cannot eat until you first wash your hands.
