Connection rules

  • V-た + ところで + (usually negative main clause).
  • Futility / resignation — the main clause usually expresses 'no matter what, nothing changes'.
  • Distinct from 〜たところ (N3 aspectual 'just did') and 〜たところが (unexpected contrast).

Imasara ayama ta tokoro de, yurushi te morae nai.

Even if you apologize now, you won't be forgiven.
