Connection rules
- ＋V plain / i-adj + かのように; na-adj + (な / である) + かのように; noun + (である / の) + かのように.
- ＋Counterfactual: the comparison is to something that isn't actually the case.
- ＋More literary than ように alone — the か adds a hypothetical / counterfactual flavor.
Examples
1.
彼はまるで何も知らないかのように話した。
Kare wa marude nani mo shira nai ka no you ni hanashi ta.
He talked as if he knew nothing at all.
