Connection rules

  • Noun + じゃあるまいし / ではあるまいし; plain form + わけじゃあるまいし.
  • Rejects an unreasonable premise — often used to correct or scold.
  • Common fixed type: 子供じゃあるまいし ('you're not a child, are you?').
