other than / except for (no one else but).
Connection rules
- ＋Noun + をおいて + negative main clause (ない, いない, etc.).
- ＋Exclusivity — X is the only option, no one / nothing else qualifies.
- ＋Requires a negative main clause for the 'no one but X' sense.
Examples

彼をおいて、適任者はいない。
Kare o oi te, tekinin sha wa i nai.
There's no one suitable other than him.
