Connection rules
- ＋V volitional (よう / おう) + ものなら.
- ＋Hypothetical with warning / threat — 'if you dare X, Y will happen'.
- ＋Often negative consequences.
Examples
1.
遅刻しようものなら、上司に叱られる。
Chikoku shiyo u mono nara, joushi ni shikara reru.
If you dare to be late, the boss will scold you.
