if it's (a case of) / given that it is.
Connection rules
- ＋Noun + とあっては; plain-form clause + とあっては.
- ＋Conditional case-making — 'if it's a case of X, then Y'.
- ＋Close to 〜とあれば (covered at N2) — とあっては is slightly more insistent.
Examples

緊急事態とあっては、すぐ駆けつけなければならない。
Kinkyuu jitai to a te wa, sugu kaketsuke nakere ba nara nai.
If it's an emergency, I have to rush over right away.
