Connection rules

- ＋Social / face-saving consideration — 'out of consideration for X'.
- ＋Often when the speaker must act a certain way for appearances.
Examples
1.
約束した手前、引き下がれない。
Yakusoku shi ta temae, hikisagare nai.
Having promised, I can't back down.
