(Ni tae nai)

unbearable / can't bear to / not worth.

Connection rules

  • V dict-form + に堪えない; noun (emotion) + に堪えない.
  • Negated form of 〜に堪える — unbearability or 'not worth'.
  • Common with evaluation: 見るに堪えない, 聞くに堪えない.

Examples

その映画えいがひどすぎなかっ

Sono eiga wa hido sugi te, miru ni tae naka ta.

The movie was so bad it was unbearable to watch.
