Connection rules
- ＋Noun / na-adj + ではあるまいか; V plain + のではあるまいか.
- ＋Literary tentative doubt — 'I wonder if it isn't X'.
- ＋Very formal / literary — modern equivalent is 〜のではないだろうか.
