(Gotoki)

like (a) / such as (literary, often disparaging).

Connection rules

  • Noun + ごとき (+ noun).
  • Often dismissive when used with people: 私ごとき ('someone like me'), お前ごとき ('someone like you').
  • Can also be a neutral simile with other nouns.

Examples

Watashi gotoki mono ni wa mottainai o kotoba desu.
